FallenLA Serious Roleplay Rules

These rules apply to our Grand Theft Auto FiveM Serious Roleplay server, you can find the ip for it here.

Revision 2 - 6/5/2024

To become a citizen of FallenLA, we kindly ask that all players be at least 18 years old. If we discover a player who does not meet this age requirement, they will be removed from the community. Being apart of the FallenLA community requires that you have a functioning microphone.

It is the players responsibility to be familiar with all the rules and guidelines set out below. "I didn't know" is not an acceptable excuse. We are trying to foster a serious, immersive roleplay experience for everyone involved.

VIOLATION CONSEQUENCES

“Admin Jail” will be utilized before any suspensions occur. The following timelines will apply and ultimately be at the discretion of FallenLA staff. Suggested timelines are as follows:

  • Class [1]:
    • Warn First;
    • Admin Jail - Thirty (30) minutes;
    • Admin Jail - One (1) hour;
    • Admin Jail - Three (3) hours;
    • Admin Jail - Six (6) hours; and
    • Admin Jail - Twelve (12) hours.

Once the final Class [1] punishment has been reached (Admin Jail - Twelve hours), additional occurrences will result in a Class [2] punishment and will follow an escalating punishment system for continual offenses in the same category.

  • Class [2]: A one-day suspension will be issued;
  • Class [3]: A three-day suspension will be issued; and
  • Class [4]: A permanent ban will be issued.

FallenLA enforces an escalating suspension system for repeated or similar violations. This means that if a player commits the same violation or similar violations multiple times, their suspension time may increase. Additionally, the community's rules, policies, rule enforcement, and disciplinary actions are subject to adjustment at staff discretion through established staff procedures. It is important for players to not only follow the rules but also adhere to the spirit and intent of the rules to maintain a positive and fair gaming environment.

You must report someone else’s rule-breaking within 24 hours, or it will be considered invalid. You must submit all proof, including a bodycam, within this time. Submitting bodycam footage should be at accurate to the length of the event and capture as many details as possible. This is to ensure that staff can fully understand the situation. Staff may not take action based on a short clip that does not provide enough context to support the report. The clip can not be edited at all and must include audio.

Section 1 - Class 1 Violations

  • Your character should always be concerned about the value of his or her life. Treat all actions as if they were to happen in real life. Have realistic interactions. An example would be, while you are dead you are not able to talk.
  • Do not break RP. If you engage in a roleplay scenario, do not discard the scenario or mention a broken rule. Example: "You just RDMd me!” “Stop VDMing me!”
  • If you are told to leave a green zone by the property management of said green zone, you must leave. Loitering after being told will result in a punishment.
  • Killing pets or wildlife is prohibited unless done in self-defense. Animals should be treated with respect, and you cannot randomly shoot or harm them without a valid reason for self-defense. Excludes hunting zones.
  • You can use most assets under the helmet and hat category. However, using tactical, military, or law enforcement-related helmets and headgear is prohibited. This rule excludes law enforcement, tactical, and military units.
  • Combat logging is strictly against the rules. Combat logging is when you log out of the game, unplug your router, or turn off your computer during critical moments, like in the middle of a roleplay scenario, while being questioned by staff, when stopped by police, or immediately after your character’s death.
  • Robbing or killing hostages is strictly prohibited. Hostages may only be harmed if the police refuse to negotiate or do not meet your reasonable demands. Hostages cannot be your friends, as it is considered unrealistic to shoot or hold a friend hostage or at gunpoint in most situations.
  • When your character is downed, they are not necessarily dead. Medical attention may revive them, enabling them to continue participating in the ongoing roleplay. However, using the respawn feature will reset their memories and knowledge of events before their injury, per the NLR. To ensure a smooth roleplay experience, a fifteen-minute waiting period is mandatory before re-entering the scene and resuming roleplay after receiving medical attention. This means you are not allowed to rejoin a shootout immediately after being downed and taken to the hospital or receiving assistance from EMS.
  • If your character dies (flat-backed) in a scene, they should forget any information or knowledge from that specific interaction, and you are no longer allowed to involve your character in that scene or interaction.
  • You cannot be hired with two or more characters (“cousins”) in the same business. Having multiple characters employed at the same business does not make sense. Business owners are also prohibited from transferring money between characters through the business.
  • During a scene you are actively involved in, the scene remains active for two minutes from the point of the last interaction or gunshot fired. After these two minutes, you and others can remove bodies from the scene. However, any actions taken before the scene is declared over will be considered a violation of this rule.
  • If a roleplay scenario begins before a tsunami or server restart, it should logically continue afterwards. Participants are expected to return to the scenario and continue it after a restart. This helps maintain consistency and ensure that ongoing role play situations are not disrupted due to server restarts.
  • RANDOM DEATHMATCH (RDM): - Engaging in random killings or assaulting others without reason is strictly prohibited. A storyline or motivation should drive any acts of violence and involve proper interaction, sixty seconds, and reasoning. Randomly attacking or killing others is often considered a form of random deathmatching.
  • LOW EFFORT KILLING (LEK): – Proper roleplay interaction is required, sixty seconds, to engage in violent actions against other players. This means that if you have a valid reason to initiate combat with another player, you must first communicate your intentions through roleplay. Harming or killing another player without giving them a clear warning of your intent is not acceptable.  Official player owned hitman businesses will be exempt from areas of this rule while performing duties of their job.
  • VEHICLE DEATHMATCH (VDM): - VDM is defined as causing harm to someone using your vehicle. Excessively ramming your vehicle into other vehicles is not allowed, as it is unrealistic. Additionally, your vehicle should never be used as a weapon to harm another player, regardless of the circumstances.
  • Robbing players who have just flown into the city is strictly prohibited, as it can result in a negative roleplay experience and discourage them from continuing to play in the city. In the event of an accidental robbery, if you discover that the player you are robbing has starter items, it is important to let them go and not take anything from them.
  • Factions are not allowed to ally with other factions for any faction-related activities. The only instance where this doesn't apply is when faction members are engaged in civilian activities. In such instances, they must refrain from wearing any faction identifiers such as clothing or chains.

Section 2 - Class 2 Violations

  • Forcing another player to go to a bank or an ATM to force players to pull out money or force others to give you keys to their residence is not allowed. This constitutes Force RP.
  • Body dumping is not allowed. This refers to relocating a dead person’s body from the location where they were killed, which can make it difficult for EMS to locate them.
  • Shooting or robbing employees while inside their workplace is not allowed. Similarly, employees are also not allowed to engage in such actions.
  • Double tapping is permitted but must be roleplayed correctly, following the New Life Rule (NLR). If you intend for the affected person to forget the situation, you can double-tap them. However, they cannot be double-tapped again if they have already been robbed.
  • Engaging in criminal activities in Green Zones, such as selling items, robbing, and shooting, is strictly prohibited within all Green Zones. It is important to note that if a scene starts outside of a Green Zone and a player enters the Green Zone to avoid confrontation or interaction, this is considered powergaming and will result in punishment.
  • Engaging in excessive torture roleplay is not allowed. However, since this topic can be sensitive and controversial, you should obtain consent from others to engage in such roleplay or stop immediately if they request you to do so.
  • Scenes that involve the killing and injury of on-duty medical personnel are not allowed. Preventing medical personnel from assisting others for an extended period is prohibited. After receiving medical care, you should leave the area immediately to allow the medical personnel’s work to continue.
  • Cop baiting, which involves trying to entice or antagonize law enforcement to provoke a response, is also strictly prohibited. When law enforcement arrives at a shootout or criminal activity scene, everyone should fear their presence and vacate the area immediately. Setting up and waiting for the police to arrive with the sole intention of initiating a shootout is strictly prohibited.
  • Compliance with all government entities, such as the President, Mayor, Law Enforcement, EMS, etc., is required to create a constructive roleplay environment for all parties involved. While you can run from the police, it should be done realistically, with proper roleplay interaction. Remember that running from the police may result in heavy fines, jail time, and other consequences.
  • If EMS is at an active scene, you are not allowed to intervene in any way, such as pushing EMS personnel or aiming weapons at them. You can ask them to leave the area if the scene is still active, but you should not harm them. EMS should not involve themselves until a scene ends and should enter with their hands up. Killing or taking EMS hostage is strictly prohibited, including AI Medics. EMS are present to provide assistance and help in emergencies, and harming, abducting, and or blocking them in any way is prohibited.
  • LOW EFFORT ROBBING (LER) - Before attempting to rob another player, it is essential to perform a proper interaction.
  • Robbing people while they are on their back (flat-backed) or fully dead is strictly prohibited. You can only rob them when they are on their side, or you can double-tap them, leaving them fully dead, in which case you can not rob them. It is strictly prohibited to flatback a member of your gang or friend for any reason including, but not limited to preventing from them being robbed by an opposing party.

Section 3 - Class 3 Violations

  • Hitman conduct is prohibited. Such roleplay can lead to low-effort killings, and any violent interactions or roleplay must have a proper backstory. This excludes Hitman player owned businesses.
  • Avoiding penalties and rule-breaking consequences is strictly prohibited. If your account is banned from the community, you must wait out the ban. Trying to circumvent these infractions by creating new accounts or using other server access methods will lead to a permanent and unappealable ban from the server and community.
  • Robbing EMS (including AI Medics), Law Enforcement, or DOJ personnel is strictly prohibited while on duty.
  • Texture packs and shaders are allowed in the community. However, using external assets such as tracers, kill effects, crosshairs, and removal of in-game assets like water, vegetation, shadows, fog, and time cycle modifications is strictly prohibited. Any assets or modifications that provide advantages over other players are considered cheating and should not be used. If you are unsure, please ask a member of staff.
  • The use of third-party assets such as macros and auto-clickers to gain advantages over other players is strictly prohibited in the community. This includes any form of automation software that provides an unfair advantage, such as auto-clickers used to secure jobs or heists. Players are expected to follow these rules and maintain a fair and competitive environment within the community.
  • Metagaming is strictly prohibited. This refers to intentionally using or sharing information that your in-game character did not learn through in-game means. This includes information from streaming sources, Discord channels, etc. Being on a Discord call while roleplaying, for the purpose of sharing in game information, is also not allowed, as it can provide an unfair advantage.

Section 4 - Class 4 Violations

  • Any form of corruption within a whitelisted job, such as distributing police department guns, ammunition, handcuffs or stealing from evidence, will result in severe consequences.
  • Impersonating any whitelisted job or faction is strictly prohibited.
  • Modding, exploiting, or injecting of any kind is strictly prohibited in the community.
  • Sometimes, a staff member may request a PC Check, and all players must comply. Failure to comply will be automatically considered an admission of guilt. All players will be given 120 seconds to join the “Staff Waiting Room,” failure to do so will result in an automatic ban without exceptions.
  • Obstructing any service the community provides is strictly prohibited and includes but is not limited to IP logging, injections/LUA injections, and modded client menus.
  • Failing to comply with staff when assisting in an investigation involving the exploitation or abuse of the system to obtain illegal items or excess cash is strictly prohibited. If it is discovered that you were withholding information or providing false information to staff members once the investigation is complete, disciplinary actions can be taken against you.
  • Intentionally exploiting and taking advantage of unintended features, whether for yourself or others, is strictly prohibited. If you accidentally encounter an exploit, you must report it to a staff member immediately. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action against you.
  • Maintaining a job in the job menu after you have been fired is considered an exploit and will be subject to punishment based on the severity of the reported exploit.
  • Avoid advertising for other servers (Cities) and communities within the FallenLA server. This constitutes poaching and is prohibited.
  • Trading in-game currencies, items, or valuables for any currency or valuables outside of the game is strictly prohibited.
  • Powergaming is defined as using a loophole or exploiting a situation that is not allowed to gain an advantage, whether for yourself or another player. Some examples include speed boosting, glitch rolling, transferring money or items between characters/cousins.
  • The use of hate speech or discriminatory language is strictly prohibited. This includes offensive terms such as slurs, derogatory comments, or any language that targets individuals based on their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic.
  • Trolling and no intention to roleplay (NITRP) is strictly prohibited. This includes refusing to engage in roleplay and intentionally disrupting the roleplay experience of others through your actions or statements. This will result in a permanent ban from the community.
  • Sexual roleplaying or Erotic Roleplaying (ERP) is strictly prohibited unless all involved parties have given explicit consent and such roleplay is conducted in a private setting. This includes activities like forcing other players into sexual emoting or roleplaying, making inappropriate gestures or actions in public, or engaging in sexual emotes where others can see them.
  • Harassment in any form is strictly prohibited within the community. This includes personal attacks, derogatory language, threats, or engaging in behavior that targets or singles out an individual player. Additionally, any actions aimed at harming someone's well-being outside of the game, such as telling someone to harm themselves, are strictly forbidden and considered violations of community standards.
